:: Central Coast Natives ::

Natives are plant species occuring naturally in a specific region. As many plant species are native to California as to the entire United States east of the Mississippi. Since the advent of global travel, humans have moved plants throughout the world. The introduction of invasive non-native plants to new areas has led to a large change in ecosystems and a loss of biodiversity. There are a number of species threatened in our area. The native plants in the Conservatory occur naturally in San Luis Obispo county.
